Andrew WK album coverRock musician Andrew WK has, for the moment anyway, stopped writing and touring. Claiming to have a new perspective on what makes people truly happy, Andrew WK (AWK) wants to put his music on hiatus to pursue a career as a motivational speaker and is currently traveling around the country to lecture to people on the subject of personal happiness and fulfillment.

One of the most probable reasons behind this drastic career change? An elusive figure named “Steev Mike” who has been threatening AWK’s professional career by flooding his websites with cryptic, hostile messages. “Steev Mike”, rumor has it, is AWK’s creator but has only been credited as a creative source on AWK’s first album, “I Get Wet.” Since then, Mike has become somewhat of an urban legend.

OSFlash Bee, courtesy of OS FlashEverybody loves a good countdown! Flash designers and developers especially love a countdown of the best open-source Actionscript projects. The term “best” is a squishy amalgam of the measures of community support, design and technology, application in the real world and overall usefulness. Visit OSFlash, the de-facto hub for open source flash projects, to see more about these projects and many, many more that are terrific but didn’t make the cut for this countdown.

Hello VOXers. We’re a design studio in North Hollywood, right on the corner of Lankershim and Magnolia (you know the one – where Julia Roberts got clocked taking an illegal left in Erin Brockovitch). We’ve been evaluating new blogging packages for internal company collaboration. VOX has such a great feel to it that we decided to experiment a bit by creating an open forum for both our employees and our friends to interact, collaborate and basically just have a little fun!

Tuesday Creative, Suite 800, 5200 Lankershim Blvd

We’re approaching our two month anniversary in our new studio on the eighth floor of the Academy building. We wanted a big, open production floor so we removed almost all the walls and raised the ceiling to nearly the height of the helipad on the roof (we hope to someday take advantage of that, too!). We have a really nice view of the foothills, and a clear line of sight to the offices of two of our clients, Disney and NBC Universal.

Nice to meet you all. We’re looking forward to getting to know our fellow VOX-enabled design professionals and enthusiasts in the coming months. Feel free to get in touch with us if you want to chat, or have lunch in NoHo.
