I Have a lot of Usernames and Passwords

from Mashable.com’s postMonths ago, I was joking with a co-worker about the idea of hiring a personal assistant just to update all of the social networking sites that I’m registered for. It was a joke then. But now I’m seriously wondering how it is I’m able to keep up my Delicious, Flickr, Twitter, Pownce, LinkedIn, Myspace, and Facebook accounts. Not to mention the dozen other sites I have accounts for, but don’t qualify as social networking sites per se.
This issue, however, doesn’t compare to the real problem that has more to do with passwords and, well, trying to keep track of them all. Beyond just social networking sites, I also pay for all of my bills online meaning I must have at least 30 usernames and passwords out there in cyberspace. I think I’m also registered for 3 emails accounts from Yahoo, Gmail, and Earthlink. Gah!

Solution? Well if you trust an online password manager, there are at least a dozen to choose from. Mashable.com, the social networking news blog, posted about 60 plus of these password managers. You can read on and find out which one works for you. Or you can do it the old school way and just keep an Excel document that is password protected. Let’s just hope you have that password burned into your memory somehow.
