Miro Internet TV, that is.

And now we are all one step closer to understanding the massive potential of Internet TV thanks Miro video player. Reincarnated as a 1.0 product from its days as an Internet TV player called “Democracy,” Miro’s name and design may have changed but it has sacrificed none of the features that made it popular. Thanks to an open video player called “VLC,” it can play any kind of video format—even YouTube videos and HD content. (As a matter of fact, Miro has access to more HD content than any other source!)

Perhaps the best thing about Miro is that it is GPL licensed—GPL being the standard in open/free licensing—and therefore grabbing corporate claws can’t claim Miro for their own. The Participatory Culture Foundation is a charity that created Democracy and pays programmers to improve technology, which does much to secure Miro’s future as open, free and limitless.
