It seems more and more, software developers are embracing Open Source. As more people continue to contribute to the base code, it just keeps getting better and better.

Ever wonder if this approach could ever be adopted by another industry? Well, it looks like it just might. Watch out Pepsi and Coca-Cola; the Open Source community has its sights on you next. Introducing OpenCola, “an open-source cola beverage that invites makers to create and modify their recipe to achieve a better beverage.” It’s even licensed under the GNU General Public License.

Simply follow the steps as described and very soon you can be sticking it to the man with your very own home made cola drink. Of course, the purpose of this, as is with an Open Source project, is to make it better. So feel free to experiment and submit your improvements to the project.
